SOUTH AFRICA


The best way to get an idea of how much your move will cost is to check the budget tab of the moving spreadsheet. It was last updated on 5 February 2024.


Here are two sample budget breakdowns from South Africans who actually moved to the UK:


  • My moving costs: it cost R185 000 for my partner, my cat and I to move to Cambridge in January 2020. We did not have to pay the health surcharge.

  • Blogger Stealthy Wealth’s moving costs: it cost him R259 375 to send his family of four to a cheaper part of the UK in 2021. He had to pay the health surcharge for one person.


NIGERIA

INDIA


  • Multicurrency account Wise (a great way to move money between different countries) offers a fairly up-to-date budget breakdown of moving to the UK from India.
